Football plays a key role in the experience of Latin America and of Latin Americans, and recent sporting events in Brazil have afforded the region unprecedented levels of coverage. However, this coverage has predominantly focused on the men’s game.

A Level Playing Field, hosted by the University of Sheffield, highlights obstacles to women’s equal engagement with football in South America, discussing how it affects their position within important national narratives. The conference, hosted by the University of Sheffield, considers issues regarding inequality, inclusion and empowerment, and looks at object-based research from museum professionals and academics.

The conference is free to attend, and is ideal for Early Career Researchers and students alike.
